Arrowhead Council of Qwest Pioneers are doing "The Spirit of Service Ride 2008" on June 28th to benefit the military. They have designated two groups that could use financial assistance, one is for active solders and their families - MN Military Family Foundation, and the other is for the Veterans - Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV).

More on the ride:

We will leave Duluth the morning of June 28 approximately 10:30, and will ride about 100 miles stopping at 4 establishments, allowing the riders to visit and check out all the motorcycles. We want to make a statement riding past the Miller Hill Mall, driving through Cloquet on Cloquet Avenue and arriving in Carlton by way of Jay Cooke State Park ending at the VFW where we will have a steak/rib dinner.

We have an American flag that was flown over Iraq, with a certificate signed by the pilot, that will be given to a Veteran by doing a drawing of all Vets in attendance.

There will be several raffles and prizes. The cost of the ride is $25.00, which includes dinner and a t-shirt, all proceeds will be divided between the two charities.
